1. Who we are

PROTELECTSA is the trading name under which Richard Mosqueda, an electrical engineer based in the Republic of Panama, develops and sells technical software for the power sector.

The controller of the data described in this document is Richard Mosqueda, acting as a sole trader.

This policy explains what data we handle, why, and what you can do about it. It covers both the Relay Tripping Curves PRO2 (RTC2) software and the www.protelectsa.net website.

2. RTC2 does not collect your data

We want to be explicit about this, because it's unusual and it matters:

RTC2 is desktop software that runs entirely offline.

  • It transmits nothing to PROTELECTSA or to any third party.

  • It collects no telemetry, no usage statistics, no diagnostic data.

  • It does not access the internet while running.

  • It does not track which projects you open, which curves you plot, or which reports you generate.

Your engineering work — relay settings, client data, the reports you produce — stays on your computer only. We don't see it, we don't store it, and we have no technical means of accessing it.

The demo version requires no activation and therefore generates and processes no identifying data at all.

3. Licence activation data

The paid editions (Essential, Professional and Corporate) require activation. The process works as follows:

  1. RTC2 locally generates an identifier in the form UserName@MachineName, read from your Windows configuration.

  2. You send us that identifier by email. The software does not transmit it; sending it is your own voluntary action.

  3. We generate a licence tied to that identifier and return it to you by email.

What we handle: the UserName@MachineName identifier, your name, your email address and, where applicable, your company name.

What for: to generate your licence, to verify its validity when you raise a support request, and to reissue it if you change computers or lose the file.

Legal basis: performance of the licence agreement you enter into with us when you purchase the software.

How long: for as long as the licence remains in force. Because these are perpetual licences, we keep this record indefinitely — precisely so that we can reissue your licence years later if you need it. You may request deletion, on the understanding that this will prevent us from reissuing your licence in future.

4. Website data

4.1 Demo download form

When you download the demo we ask for your name, email address and company.

  • What for: to send you the download link, and occasionally to let you know about software updates or related technical content.

  • Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.

  • How long: until you ask to be removed.

  • You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to info@protelectsa.net. We'll do it without asking why.

We do not sell, rent or pass your email address to anyone. Ever.

4.2 Purchases

Purchases are processed through PayPal. PayPal acts as an independent controller of your payment data.

PROTELECTSA does not receive, see or store your card details. We receive only the transaction confirmation, your name and your email, which we need in order to issue your licence and your invoice.

PayPal's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

4.3 Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate country of origin, device type, and where the visit came from. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Google Analytics uses cookies. You can refuse them through your browser settings, or install the opt-out add-on Google provides for this purpose. The site works normally without them.

We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. We show no ads.

5. Who we share data with

We share your data with no one else. No advertisers, no data brokers, no third-party networks.

We may be required to disclose information if compelled by a competent authority under Panamanian law.

6. Security

We apply reasonable measures to protect the information we hold: restricted access, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication on administrative accounts.

No system is infallible, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can state precisely is that the risk surface is small: the data we hold is limited to names, email addresses and licence identifiers. We store no financial data, no user passwords, and none of your engineering work.

7. Your rights

You may ask us at any time to:

  • Access — tell you what data of yours we hold.

  • Rectify — correct inaccurate data.

  • Erase — delete your data.

  • Object — stop processing it for a given purpose.

  • Port — provide your data in a readable format.

Write to info@protelectsa.net. We respond within 30 days at the latest.

These rights are available to you under Law 81 of 2019 of the Republic of Panama on the protection of personal data. If you are resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you additionally hold the rights set out in the GDPR, and we will honour them on the same terms.

8. International transfers

Richard Mosqueda (PROTELECTSA) operates from Panama. Our providers (hosting, PayPal, Google) may process data in other countries, including the United States. By using our services, you accept this transfer.

9. Minors

RTC2 is a professional engineering tool. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

If we amend this policy, we will update the date in the header. If the change is substantial and affects data you have already entrusted to us, we will tell you by email.
